A Dutch Solid Silver Tea Strainer fully marked with the Lion 2 Assayer Mark used between 1906 and 1953 certifying that the silver item is at least 833 parts pure silver. Sterling silver is 925 parts pure silver. We shall call this Dutch Silver Sterling in this listing.

The tea strainer in addition to the Lion 2 mark also has a makers mark (right below the base of the windmill on the tea strainers handle. This mark is stamped into the silver on the front, it is not completely legible to me but it looks like two letters, namely A and L. If so, it could be A. Landmeter of Schoonhoven. Please, do your own research and use your judgment to make this call.

The wings of the windmill are riveted to the strainer's handle and they do move/spin on the rivet by gently pushing it with your fingers.

The strainer is in very good antique/used condition and it can still be used for making a good cup of tea with loose leaf tea.

5-1/2" long, 3" in diameter.

We will ship it carefully protected with good wrapping material inside of a box.
